Museum of Fine Arts Open House

Museum of Fine Arts Open House

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is home to beautiful exhibitions, but Boston has so many gorgeous museums and the price of admission can add up so much that sometimes, we end up missing out on experiencing what each gallery has to offer.

This Monday, January 15th, you’re in luck; the Museum of Fine Arts is offering free admission! All you have to do is provide a valid Massachusetts zip code and you’ve earned yourself free admission. You can even get free admission to the timed ticketed exhibitions on a first come, first served basis as well.

Can’t make it Monday but still interested? There are a handful of days throughout the year that the MFA offers admission for free: January 15th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), May 27th (Memorial Day), June 19th (Juneteenth), and October 14th (Indigenous Peoples’ Day).

There are also Community Celebrations days where there is $5 admission after 5pm. On these days, the museum enforces a pay-what-you-wish admission ticket, with $5 being the minimum charge for a ticket. These tickets can be redeemed in person at the museum starting at 5pm.

The dates those tickets are honored are as follows: February 15th (Lunar New Year), March 14th (Nowruz), and May 16th (ASL Night). Based on last year’s calendar, it is likely there will be more days added later in the year for Community Celebrations as well.
