Outdoor Summer Movie Nights

Something that a lot of towns are doing this Summer is hosting outdoor movie nights. Whether you’re on the South Shore, Cape Cod, or even Rhode Island, there’s a showing for you.

Here are the movie nights we know of:

Gray’s Beach in Kingston, MA on Thursdays

Duxbury Library in Duxbury, MA on Wednesdays and Fridays

Mashpee Commons in Mashpee, MA on Thursdays

Featherstone Center For the Arts on Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesdays

Nisby Bandstand in Abington, MA on Saturdays

Mayor’s Summer Movie Nights in the Parks

Roger Williams Park in Providence, RI on select Fridays

Cabana Horseshoe in Narragansett, RI on Wednesdays

Park at Rocky Point, Warwick, RI

Gray’s Beach

Bring your family to Gray’s Beach for an outdoor movie night on the beach! Parking at Gray’s beach is limited, but open to the public and you do not need to have a sticker to park there for the movie nights!

TIP – Bring a flashlight with you to the event, because after the movie and after dark, there aren’t lights to guide you back to your car!

Duxbury Library

The Duxbury Library will be hosting movie nights on the side lawn on select Wednesday and Friday nights at 8:30pm. Make sure you bring your own blanket or lawn chair for the movies.

Mashpee Commons

The town of Mashpee will be hosting movie nights on Thursday evenings through August 25th. These events are free and family friendly, just make sure you bring your own beach chairs or blankets!

Mashpee Commons is also hosting various other events this summer, including Twist Tuesdays, Live Music in the Square on Saturdays, and a block party on August 13th.

Featherstone Center for the Arts

Every Wednesday night through August 10th, you are encouraged to gather at the Featherstone Center for the arts for a movie night at 8:45pm (gates will open at 7:30pm). 

These events require you to bring your own chairs, blankets, pillows, food, and beverages (wine and beer are permitted), but no pets will be allowed.

Wednesday, August 3 – Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Wednesday, August 10 – La La Land

Nisby Bandstand

Once a month, the town of Abington will be hosting a movie night at the Nisby Bandstand. Attractions at each movie night will vary, but it’s looking like there is a concession stand grill open for August’s movie night, and food trucks for September’s movie night.

A movie will be shown on August 13th and on September 10th, though we aren’t sure what movies will be playing.

On the first Friday of every month through September, Roger Williams Park in Providence will be hosting a movie night to celebrate its 150th Birthday! 

Make sure you bring a blanket or a chair, and you can either bring food or purchase food from a Food Truck.

Narragansett will also be hosting a movie night series on Wednesday evenings at dusk. In addition, they’re hosting a summer concert series on Mondays at 6:30pm

Rocky Point State Park

Rocky Point State Park will be hosting movie nights throughout the summer, the last being on July 28th. Admission for the movie is free and there is also free parking. You’ll also have the opportunity to touch a Warwick Police car and Fire Truck and see K-9 Charley, Warwick’s new community compassion dog.

The movie on July 28th is going to be Luca, and they’ve scheduled rain dates for August 4th and 25th.
