This was a busy week this week. This morning, the headlines are currently dominated by three things: the NFL Draft, the conclusion of James Corden’s Late Late Show, and the sad passing of Jerry Springer.
Besides that, it seems like we’re being encouraged to travel back in time with all of the upcoming entertainment releases.
Firstly, Sex and the City fans are currently in their glory (myself being one of them, of course) with the first look at the new season of its spin-off And Just Like That.
If you want to avoid spoilers, I’d suggest skipping ahead just a little, but it was confirmed that John Corbett would be reappearing on the series as Aidan Shaw, and the first teaser brings us everything we’ve been wanting to see: AIDAN SHAW IS OFFICIALLY BACK.
Check out the teaser below:
There isn’t an official release date for the new season yet, but it will be sometime in June. It looks like we’ll be seeing some other famous faces this season as well including Bowen Yang, Oliver Hudson, and Victor Garber.
There have also been talks this week about some other revivals.
If you’re a fan of Vince Vaughn and the cult classic Dodgeball, you’ll be excited to know that a sequel is officially in the works with Vaughn being part of the new project as well.
The movie Bridesmaids could also be getting a revival. Melissa McCarthy spoke about the film and how much she loved being a part of it and the prospect of creating another movie.
Although it doesn’t look like there’s anything concrete at the moment, McCarthy said she would film the sequel “this afternoon, right now.” So, Bridesmaids fans, work your magic: make sure producers know how much both the creative team and its fans would love to see another movie.
We also got our first look at the new installment in The Hunger Games series. On Thursday, the first trailer for the film “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” – a prequel to the beloved series – dropped at CinemaCon.
I don’t know about all of you, but since The Hunger Games and its three succeeding movies Catching Fire and Mockingjay parts 1 and 2 hit Netflix, I’ve been wanting to dive back into the stories and I just recently picked up the books again, so I’ll be excited to see this adaptation when it’s released later this year on November 17th.
Check out the trailer below.
Lastly, the long awaited adaptation of Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan, is just about here.
The first three episodes are set to drop on Paramount+ on Sunday 4/30, and after that, one episode will drop per week.
The series looks incredibly well done (even if we took Joshua Jackson out of the equation, because as we all know, I’m a big fan of Joshua’s. That Dawson’s Creek love runs deep), so I’ll be curious to see where they take this series.
It’s looking like it’ll be pretty different than the original movie from the 80s, so it should be a new experience for all viewers, whether big fans of the original, or newer fans like myself.
