It’s been a few weeks, but welcome back to The Buzz – I’m happy to be back here with all of you!

Let’s start with the Super Bowl earlier this week. As a fan of Rihanna, I loved the performance and I’ve been keeping tabs on her stats, and to say that the Super Bowl was good for her streaming numbers would be an understatement. Her streams have increased by a staggering 140% and she’s expected to be a great contender on the Billboard charts this year.

Moving on, Ryan Seacreast announced yesterday morning that he is going to be stepping away from Live with Kelly and Ryan this spring and Kelly’s husband Mark Consuelos will be stepping into his shoes. Fear not though, Ryan will still have a home in the family and will occasionally fill in as co-host going forward.

There’s also tons of exciting news in the film world right now. 

We got our first look at The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey this week after months of tight lipped updates on the movie. The picture is coming out on May 26th and along with Bailey, it’s set to star Melissa McCarthy, Lin Manuel Miranda, and more.

We also got our very first look this week at Lady Gaga in the Joker film. Her role is yet to be confirmed, but she’s rumored to be playing Harley Quinn and in the still released by the filmmaker, she’s seen cradling Joaquin Phoenix’s face. 

We still have a long way to go before the film is released next October (2024), but here’s the photo that was released.

Lastly, the new Ant-Man film was released today – it was 5 long years in the making! – so run, don’t walk to theaters, Marvel fans!
