Thanks for coming back for another segment of The Buzz!
So it’s seeming like the newest trend in the music industry is for artists that are currently on Hollywood’s radar to team up with artists that were in that very same spotlight years or even decades before them.
Most recently, Beyonce and Madonna have released a collaboration. About two weeks ago now, Beyonce released her new album Renaissance, and one of the singles on it is called Break My Soul.
Beyonce then also released a special remixed version of this song with Madonna called Break My Soul (The Queens Remix). This single “samples Madonna’s iconic 1990 hit “Vogue” but with an updated twist for Beyoncé’s Renaissance phase.”
Check out the video below if you want to hear the full song.
Madonna also mentioned someone else she’d love to collaborate with.
Wednesday night, she was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon promoting her new album called Finally Enough Love. The album is a remix of her older singles which made their way to No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and features collaborations with Justin Timberlake, Nile Rogers, Britney Spears, and Nicki Minaj.
She said, though, that there’s still an artist that she would love to collaborate with and that is Kendrick Lamar, a fourteen-time Grammy-winning rapper who is extremely popular right now. She says she worships Kendrick Lamar and thinks “His new record is, like, history-making, mind-bogglingly brilliant, insane.”
Over the weekend, John Stamos was performing with The Beach Boys at a “Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer” concert and they paid tribute to Bob Saget who passed away unexpectedly in January.
Here’s a photo from Stamos’ Instagram from the show:
If you want to see The Beach Boys yourself, don’t forget, they’re in town at the Cape Cod Melody Tent on August 23 and at the South Shore Music Circus on August 24.

Lastly, HBO Max has unfortunately scrapped Greg Berlanti’s DC’s Strange Adventures from their list of upcoming projects, but, if you’re interested in meeting Kevin Smith, who was set to direct and co-write an episode of the series, he’ll be at Boston Comic Con this weekend!
Boston Comic Con is going on today, tomorrow, and Sunday in the Seaport in Boston and you can meet people from things like The Princess Bride, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Cobra Kai, Clerks, Harry Potter, and more!
