Thanks for coming back for another edition of The Buzz!
Eli Manning, former Giants quarterback, announced that he’s working with Headline Studio to bring us a new animated kids television show.
He was inspired, of course, by his love for sports, but also by his work in television over the last year.
The series doesn’t yet have a title, but its logline describes the show as following ‘a shy quarterback with a secret power — a magic arm — who leads a team of unlikely players from all backgrounds through heroic adventures as they experience a variety of sports themes including teamwork, confidence and overcoming fears’.
Manning’s goal with this series is to take something that is close to his heart and use sports as a lens to tell stories. Bringing him even closer to the project, he’ll also be voicing a supporting character on the series.
Moving on, let’s take a trip a few weeks back down memory lane to the Met Gala when Kim Kardashian wore Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress from when she sang JFK Happy Birthday.
If I remember correctly, people were in awe when they saw Kim wearing the dress the night of the Met Gala, but now, many people seem to be very unhappy about her wearing the dress.
Despite Kim’s precautions to keep the dress safe – including weight loss and practicing how to walk up the stairs without damaging the dress in any way – photos show that the dress is a little bit stretched and torn and some of the gemstones have fallen off.
This has upset many, many people, but on the other hand, some people think ‘it’s just a dress’. There’s now conflict as to whether she actually did ruin the dress, if she shouldn’t have been allowed to wear it, or if, in fact, this dress – which was made specifically for Marilyn Monroe – is just a dress and the current state of the dress doesn’t actually matter..
If you feel strongly one way or the other, text us at (508) 746-9991 and let us know what you’re thinking.
Here are some photos of the dress before and after the Met Gala.
In more exciting news, Beyonce just announced she’s coming out with a new album on July 29th called Renaissance. This is her first full studio album in six years, so you won’t want to sleep on this one!
She’s already started running pre-orders and new merch items, which you can find here.
Lastly, we’ve got two exciting movies coming out today.
First, we have Spiderhead, starring Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller dropping on Netflix. It’s about two inmates who bond after they’re both committed to a penitentiary that’s run by an individual attempting mind-altering experiments on his subjects.
The second movie – and the one I’m personally most excited for – is Lightyear, the Buzz Lightyear Origin Story. I grew up with these movies, so I’m excited to see the next steps the franchise can take, and plus, it doesn’t hurt that Chris Evans is part of the production! Don’t miss this movie in theaters this weekend.
See you next week for another edition of The Buzz!
