Earlier this week, ABC announced the Dancing with the Stars cast for the upcoming season which premieres on September 15th. Some celebrities you’ll recognize are Julia Stiles, Giada De Laurentis, and Guillermo Rodriguez. You can see the full cast here.
In anticipation of the new Hunger Games film Sunrise on the Reaping, the original films are back in theaters through Monday. They’re showing one film per day. Today, It’s Catching Fire, tomorrow is Mockingjay Part 1, Sunday is Mockingjay Part 2, and Monday concludes with Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. If you’re interested, you can buy tickets here.
The new movie, starring Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, will be in theaters on November 20th. If you’d like to read the book before seeing the film, check it out here (I think I could argue this is the best book of the series so far!).
Continuing to look ahead, Netflix dropped the East of Eden trailer (which coincidentally also stars Joseph Zada) and you can watch that here. East of Eden premieres on October 1st. Also premiering in October on Netflix is a new three-part docuseries called The One About Matthew Perry. This piece is the first in-depth documentary about Perry and will include stories from some of the people who knew him best. You’ll see unreleased photos and videos of the late actor as well as his rise to comedic fame. It will be released on October 27th.
Production on the upcoming season of Heated Rivalry is well underway and news of newly cast actors continues to be released. This week, Kevin Zegers, Milla Jovovich, and Paul Gross joined the cast! As a longtime fan of Kevin Zegers, I’m excited to see him on screen as Coach Wiebe! Check out the full announcement here.
The US Open is still ongoing, with many greatly talented athletes still in the race and many celebrity sightings seen in the crowds! If you follow gymnastics, Jordan Chiles (two-time Olympian and former UCLA Bruin) announced this week that she is coming back to the world of gymnastics as a student coach at UCLA and will be training for the Los Angeles Olympic Games as well! Check out her LA28 announcement video below, which she brought Michael Jordan on board to help with.
I’ve been waiting MONTHS for this announcement, so I’m excited to see Chiles back in elite gymnastics and hopefully see her make another Olympic team!
If you’re looking for new music, Miley Cyrus announced that she’s releasing her 10th studio album on September 18th called Bass Persuades. With this, she also announced she’s going to be playing 2 shows at the Hollywood Bowl in October. If you’re interested, presales will take place on September 8th and 9th, ahead of the general sale on September 10th.
Beyonce also released a deluxe edition of the album B’Day today in honor of the album’s 20th anniversary. This edition includes 31 digital tracks with new collaborations and unreleased tracks.
Lastly, the teaser trailer for the new HBO Max Harry Potter series dropped this week. You can check it out below. The series premieres on Christmas Day.
