Jordyn’s Buzz – March 1st, 2024

Jordyn’s Buzz – March 1st, 2024

Shakira is set to release her first album in seven years later this month – it’s called Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran and it is scheduled for a March 22nd release.

Shakira has said that making the album was an alchemical process, like she was rebuilding herself with each song she wrote. She said in an interview with Billboard that her tears transformed into diamonds and her vulnerability into strength as she sang the songs.

If you’re a fan of romantic comedies, you probably saw the Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney led film Anyone But You. The film was released just before Christmas and was a massive success; it completely revived the romantic comedy genre and fans everywhere are clamoring for more.

Powell and Sweeney had great chemistry in the film and Powell has revealed that he and Sweeney are looking for another film to work on together. He says if anyone has any potential scripts for them, send them their way!

Fans have also been asking for a follow up to Anyone But You and Sweeney didn’t confirm whether this would happen or not, but she said to Jimmy Fallon that there’s ‘maybe like a high 9 chance’ of making a sequel film.

If you’re looking for something to hold you over after watching Anyone But You, the much anticipated Dune: Part Two film is out in theaters today, three years after the release of the first film. Check out the trailer below if you haven’t seen it.

As we all know, production on all of our favorite series were halted last year during the Strikes, but new articles about And Just Like That, the new Harry Potter series, and Only Murders in the Building have been released this week. None of the series have official release dates yet, but each of these three series have confirmed that new episodes are on the way! It’s looking like And Just Like That is set for a 2025 premiere, Harry Potter for 2026, and Only Murders in the Building is likely to premiere sometime this summer.

There is also a Ray Donovan spin off in the works called The Donovans. In addition, filming for the new Superman film has officially begun! Writer and director James Gunn announced that the film is set for a July 2025 release and will star David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult as Clark Kent/Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor respectively.

Lastly, if you saw the film Saltburn earlier this year starring Jacob Elordi, you’ll recognize this mansion:

The mansion is located in the English countryside and fans have been flocking to the property after the film gained so much popularity. Turns out, even though the owner of the mansion knew what he was signing up for when he allowed the production to film on his property, he’s not happy about the influx of tourists! Check out what he has to say here.
