Willow Fire update: Most evacuations lifted, containment grows to 73%
Evacuation orders and warnings were lifted for most areas near the Willow Fire, on Thursday, as fire crews continue to get a handle on the fire.On Friday afternoon, all road closures around the Willow Fire were lifted. Those road closures included: Arroyo Seco and Carmel Valley Road; Carmel Valley Road at Tassajara; and Tassajara at Cachagua Road.The Willow Fire burning in the Los Padres National Forest has burned 2,877 acres and is 73% contained as of Sunday evening, the U.S. Forest Service reported. The fire started Thursday, June 17, west of Arroyo Seco Campground.
