WEDNESDAY KSBW WEATHER FORECAST P.M. 6.2.2021

Now, you're KSTW weather forecast with chief meteorologist Lee Solomon. Good evening, everybody will take you around the horn here, see what the highs were today. And we had that spread of almost 30 degrees middle eighties, up in the santa Cruz Mountains some seventies and santa cruz at least away from the beach and then upper sixties and middle sixties over in aptos. Over the manner used to 70 in Watsonville, 76 Correlate is a little warmer, of course, Santa Clara Valley, 77 Hollister but Middle 80s. Gilroy Morgan Hill, just a 60 in Moss landing and then from the middle sixties and Salinas to almost the middle eighties down in King City. So about a 20 degree spread there. And again, the coolest spots around the peninsula, 58 59 degrees of 64 over in Monterey, 59 caramel low seventies out in Carmel Valley. Overall a lot of sunshine for the valleys and hills, not as much of course by the bay. Again from Prudential to Salinas to monterrey, a brief clearing there in the afternoon, already starting to make their way back into Salinas around the peninsula. Still clear though. Up in santa cruz, up into the santa Cruz Mountains and the santa Clara Valley, up and down the coast. Kind of the same program you will notice though some cloud cover erupting up over the cr some cumulus clouds, little disturbance there with enough moisture going through the atmosphere, even though high pressures overhead, you can see again that flare up and it's a minor one by sierra standards, but there are some showers and a few thunderstorms that are going this afternoon, Mostly up in the highest peaks here, you can see up on the Sierra crest and actually, if anything, probably on the east side of the crest, couple of lightning strikes there, potential for a little hail, gusty winds, some heavy downpours and isolated location. So that again, is a typical type of program for the Sierra in the summertime. They'll see those thunderstorms blossoming in the afternoon. You go camping up there, you start off with a sunny day and then by two or three o'clock you start to see those clouds billowing up. That happens often 97 in Sacramento tomorrow. Still triple digits in fact one oh 4 to 1 oh six between Fresno and Bakersfield out to Palm Springs tomorrow, 108 Vegas. So boy yeah, summer has settled in, hasn't it, 86 Tahoe with 78 Los Angeles about 69 though san Diego catching that marine layer fog tracker showing the fog reemerges around the bay. Later tonight could be a little patchy mist and drizzle as well. Tomorrow morning we have some low clouds all the way down to King City will back those off tomorrow afternoon and the winds will start to shift out of the west Northwest at about 5 to 15. You'll notice something though. You see how the clearing just briefly occurs around parts of the coast from Los landing down in the peninsula. So we'll go back to partly to mostly sunny, of course, all sons santa cruz, santa, cruz Mountains, santa clara and Salinas valleys, but again from moss landing around, let's say seaside Over the four toward you can see some of those low clouds kind of hanging a little bit in the afternoon. 49 to 54 overnight. Again, we'll lower the clouds down, put in a little patchy miss upper fifties to middle seventies At the coast or even at the coast. There's a pretty good range of about 20° mid seventies to middle eighties. For the valley's very nice inland right now. Nothing too hot. Mid sixties san Francisco 71 Oakland 75 SAn Jose. About 83 in los cabos santa Cruz Mountains. Looking at low to middle eighties 78. In Scotts Valley 68 though in aptos, low seventies capital over to santa cruz. Upper seventies core elitists 74 aromas, mid eighties Gilroy and a 62 in Moss Landing Salinas Valley, looking at middle sixties to middle and upper seventies, some low to mid eighties out towards King City and probably about 90 or so over. At the pinnacles 400 League at 60 in marina 59 seaside 66 Monterey with middle seventies in Carmel Valley, we'll take a look at your case. PW eight day forecast will be fairly steady along the bay marine layer will take care of temperatures there with fifties and sixties and seventies over the north end of the day. And then as you head inland of course it is a bit warmer this time of year with middle seventies to middle eighties looks like some slight cooling maybe second half of the weekend into early next week. We'll take a look at our weather quiz, talking about planes, airplanes. De icing is best done when about two hours prior to take off would you say no? I think it's closer to take off right before taking right there you go. Yeah, the closest you can get to the actual take off his best they usually do it within an hour to an hour and a half after that. It's kind of like it could re ice and they'll have to do it again. Which is pretty expensive. Yeah. Alright thankfully, thankfully mm.
