Now you're KSTW weather forecast with meteorologist Gina DeVecchio. Happy sunday everyone. Are you looking for that sunshine? Well, you may have to wait a little bit longer. We have cloud cover all the way into the Salinas Valley. Yesterday, those clouds hung around Salinas. All day long temperatures, uh, struggled to get into the low sixties. It was a chilly day. Carmel highlands was cool as well Throughout the day. Today though you can see the cloud cover from the tickle pink in. But I expect clouds to move out of here by late morning and sunshine even in our coastal areas. So if you're planning out the rest of your holiday weekend for today, yes, we do up the morning clouds, but I do expect it to be a nice day. In fact, even a nice beach day now. Yesterday, yes, the sun came out in santa cruz. It did get into the mid seventy's, not on the immediate coastline, but that wind coming in off the water and made it feel rather chilly. Now. For today we may have a few clouds early and then by tomorrow I think it's gonna be even Sonnier, even warmer mid 80s for Santa Cruz. Now at the beach. Of course that means a little bit cooler on the immediate coastline, but still pretty nice for this Memorial Day weekend fog trackers showing those clouds all the way up against the santa Cruz mountains, all the way into the Hollister Valley, down the Salinas Valley. So basically we're all seeing that cloud cover to start. But as we look at our future cast, I do expect that to make its way back towards the coast and give us a little more sunshine than what we had yesterday in the last few days in fact, and also a little bit earlier. Now you do notice around Monterey, this does show a few clouds lingering and that is possible for today. I think tomorrow you have a better chance of seeing ample sunshine all across the region. Also you notice a little bit of that breeze coming in so winds are going to be president once again, could funnel down some of our valleys. So expecting some gusty conditions down the Salinas Valley. Once again, yesterday we had a gust of 39 in soledad. I don't expect it to be that gusty, but still could have some 20 to 30 mile per hour wind gusts temps right now in the fifties, so pretty mild for many locations. 54 in Hollister right now, Carmel Valley 45. Those a little chilly there, temps across the state. Sixties in the Central Valley for now, 71 in Reading right now and this afternoon, look at that over 100 degrees expected. They're bracing for the first heat of the season at least. It's only gonna last a few days. So that's good news. It's not gonna be an extended period but 99 for sacramento for today, 76 in san Francisco. That's pretty warm. But tomorrow look at all those 100 degree temperatures from Reading all the way down to Palm springs, las Vegas. Uh And then you can see at the coastline those mid seventies to even eighties now the marine layer will be playing a role in some areas like san Diego. If you're headed down south you may be seeing a little bit more of those clouds. But it's the heat that's the main story. And this heat advisory is just off towards our east. Not quite in the areas around Gilroy and Morgan Hill or the cities themselves. But I'm warning you it's going to be very hot. We may not be in that triple digit range like the Central Valley but upper nineties we're not used to that. And that's what we're gonna be likely for those hottest spots as we go into your Memorial Day holiday for today. Areas near the coast in Salinas, mid sixties. Lots of seventies maybe even some low eighties warmer temperatures than yesterday and noticeably warmer for our inland communities. Also breezy with those guests there. You can see all those nineties possible for Gilroy soledad, King City, low nineties today. Upper nineties as we go into tomorrow. So taking a look at your coast forecast, you can see that the heat does peak monday still gonna be warm, Tuesday, gradual cooling midweek to the end of the weekend and into the next weekend. And there you can see those eighties to nineties hottest day looking like your Memorial Day holiday 97. Yes. Why didn't just thinking about that? I know. And of course that's just our inland spots about ocean breeze to keep us a little more comfortable at the coast. But you know, we're used to fifties, sixties, maybe seventies. So all of a sudden we're jumping up like that and we're not used to it. We're not used to that strong sun either. So limit your time outside. But have a good weekend. The weather looks nice. Sure, enjoy some time outside. But again, like you said, the sunscreen, all the protection, Right, gina. Thank you. Mhm.
