Santa Cruz County Fair announced for September
The Santa Cruz County Fair is back in 2021 after it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The fair will take place Sept. 15-19 and stick to the announced 2020 theme of "cool shades & tractor parades."
Last year was a challenging year for the Santa Cruz County Fair Organizers.
"We had a little bit of support from the state. We had some cash reserves before this started and we were able to do a few things last year," said David Kegebein, Santa Cruz County Fair CEO.
Like playing host to weekly food distributions. Providing space for those left homeless by the CZU fire. Thousand drove through to receive COVID-19 vaccines. and the non-profit, Ag History Project held a very successful, Holiday Lights drive-thru.
This year's fairgoers can expect all the rides, entertainment and animals that were present in the past--and they're excited about that.
"We had the animals here but it's not the same as having 5,000 people walking on Saturday or whatever and I miss that and looking forward to that this year," said, John Kegebein, David's dad.
For now, some COVID-19 safety plans will be put in place but that could change in three months.
More information is expected to be announced in the near future.
