Rhythmic gymnast and UCSC student qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics

Rhythmic gymnast and UCSC student qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics
A University of California, Santa Cruz student has qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Isabelle Connor, 20, studies astronomy and astrophysics at UCSC but in her free time, she is one of the best rhythmic gymnasts in the country. Connor qualified for the Olympics last week while in St. Louis. This is the first year that USA Rhythmic Gymnastics has qualified a full team for the Olympics. Connor celebrated on her Instagram with a post that read: "UNFORGETTABLE EVENING. Team USA- LETS GO CRUSH IT IN TOKYO so much love for everyone, and so blessed to be experiencing this. Soaking up every moment! Congratulations to all these Olympians."UCSC Science took to Instagram to celebrate the accomplishment. "What does a scientist look like? This one looks like an Olympic athlete! @ucsc astrophysics major @izzy.connor will be competing in the #tokyoolympics as part of the US #rhythmicgymnastics team," the page said.

A University of California, Santa Cruz student has qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
