Hollister High School has registration open for anyone wanting to help a 5-year-old with cancer.Rubi Melendez recently turned 5 years old and spent her birthday fighting T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, said Zara Hassan, a community affairs officer on ASB at Hollister High School.Rubi is currently at Stanford Children’s Lucile Packard, receiving treatment."She will undergo chemotherapy treatment for the next two-and-a-half years," Hassan said.Hassan said that the school picks a beneficiary for a fundraiser every year. This year, they will host "Run for Rubi," a 5K run and walk and a mile fun run to help raise funds for Rubi.The fundraising goal is $25,000 for Rubi and her family to cover any expenses.
