4:00 p.m. update:After sending a helicopter out to investigate, the Coast Guard has determined that this was a false alarm. Responding agencies have found no oil slick in the water despite reports from nearby boats.Original Story:A film of oil floating on the ocean water has been spotted off the coast of Pacific Grove between Lovers Point and Pt. Pinos. U.S. Coast Guard Station Monterey and Monterey Fire are actively investigating where the oil slick originated from.
