Memorial Day weekend is in full swing in Moss Landing
our central coast in a healthy amount of visitors during the first half of the holiday weekend. Action is a reporter. Ariana has also spent saturday in Moss landing to find out how local businesses are doing with that surge in visitors. So I think it's super important to to intentionally invest our money locally at this point because it's our, It's our businesses that have been affected many locals and visitors from out of town are enjoying the first day of the three day weekend. They say, as we're getting close to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. This memorial day weekend is an opportunity to help rebuild California's economy. You know, we we chose to stay in California for this long weekend to support local businesses, juliana Roger and her friends are all in town from Socal. They say they're happy to have a sense of normalcy and back together without that anxiety they felt last year, last year were all home with our families, so we're happy to be out and hanging with each other. It's just getting out, changing scenery, but also supporting the California economy because I know it's like a huge push right now to support local businesses, especially since we were shut more than other states and businesses got exactly what they prepped for a much needed busy weekend. It's looking like we expect it to be a three day holiday and people getting free to come out. We have fresh king salmon from the bay, fresh calamari, they've been coming into so and fresh uh live crabs and cook crabs. So we got a lot to offer and we're quite happy that people are coming. But with staffing still a challenge, some could still only operate on a small capacity kim Solano says right now they can only take reservations because we're all short staffed. And so this way we know what to expect. We know what we need to offer you the best we can and welcome you back. Solano says she's still hopeful and that it's important. We don't let our guard down. We're still asking people to respect the covid rules and um we want to stay open and we don't want to see any hot spots, Pappas. It's really great to see people out there spending money and getting out in the open and hugs are happening. That sounds good. I could go for some shit pino at Phil's right now. Many visitors we spoke with say they plan on being here for the whole weekend so local restaurants and shops can expect more business to stay steady for these next two days. Mhm.
