IT HAPPENED AROUND 7-PM TUESDAY NIGHT ON THE PROPERTY OF TORROMEO INDUSTRIES STARTLING NEIGHBORS IN KINGSTON AND >> THE SOUND WAS CAPTURED ON A HOME SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM MILES AWAY IN PLAISTOW FOR SOME IT KNOCKED PICTURES O THE WALL FOR OTHERS, THEY TOLD AUTHORITIES CRACKS FORMED IN THEIR HOME’S FOUNDATION. >> THI CAUGHT. >> POLICE SAY EIGHTY POUNDS OF A SUBSTANCE KNOWN AS TANNERITE EXPLODED DURING A GENDER REVEAL PARTY. THE SUBSTANCE IS AN OVER THE COUNTER EXPLOSIVE TARGET USED FOR FIREARMS PRACTICE. THE PERSON WHO PURCHASED AND DETONATED THE TANNERITE IS COOPERATING WITH INVESTIGATORS. >> IT COMES WITH AN OXIDIZER. A disorderly conduct charge has been filed in connection with a gender reveal explosion that shook neighboring towns around Kingston last month. Anthony Spinelli, of Kingston, who was described as the person responsible for the explosion, has been charged with disorderly conduct.Eighty pounds of Tannerite were detonated April 20 at Torromeo Industries as part of a gender reveal party, police said. Investigators said they were told that the location for the event, a quarry, was chosen because organizers believed it would be a safe location.No one was injured in the explosion, but the detonation was heard and felt in several communities in the area. Some residents reported that pictures were knocked off the wall, while others said cracks formed in their home's foundation.But police said they determined there were no additional property damages caused by the explosion, so more serious charges weren't filed. Tannerite is an explosive that's sold over the counter for use in targets for firearm practice.
