Mexico native and Los Angeles Clippers Head Coach Tyronn Lue has his team on to the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs after eliminating the Dallas Mavericks 126-111 in game 7 of their first round playoff series on Sunday.

Coach Lue improved his playoff record to 9-2 when facing elimination, which is the 2nd best record in NBA postseason history.

Lue and his Clippers face the number 1 seed in the Western Conference Utah Jazz tonight.

The Kansas City Royals lost 8-3 to the Los Angeles Angels on the road last (Monday) night.

Royals rookie pitcher Jackson Kowar made his major league debut and struggled.

He was replaced after just two-thirds of an inning throwing 39 pitches, including 3 wild pitches.

The St. Louis Cardinals had the day off yesterday (Monday).

The Redbirds will start a brief 2 game series in Cleveland tonight with the Indians.

Carlos Martinez gets the start for St. Louis.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:15.
