HIV outbreak in Boston linked to coronavirus pandemic, report says
An HIV outbreak in Boston is worsening as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. An outbreak in Boston among homeless drug users has increased to 113 infections — with an additional 13 added between January and February, according to The Boston Globe.Experts are blaming the increase on the stay-at-home order, which resulted in a drop in HIV testing.In January 2020, the state performed more than 3,000 tests. An HIV outbreak in Boston is worsening as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

An outbreak in Boston among homeless drug users has increased to 113 infections — with an additional 13 added between January and February, according to The Boston Globe.

Experts are blaming the increase on the stay-at-home order, which resulted in a drop in HIV testing.

In January 2020, the state performed more than 3,000 tests. In April of the same year about 200 tests were conducted.
