Highway 129 shut down in Watsonville for shooting investigation

Thursday morning the Watsonville Police Department reported on Twitter that Highway 129 was shut down due to Sheriff's Office activity.
According to the tweet, the highway was closed between Lakeview Road and Blackburn Street. They were also asking people to avoid the levee walking trail on Bridge Street between Blackburn and Hushbeck Avenue.
The Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were investigating an overnight shooting where one person was injured.
"This is an active crime scene and we are asking you to avoid the area," the Sheriff's Office Facebook post said.
One person was injured in the shooting.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office also reported that Thursday's investigation is not related to the Wednesday shooting in the same area.
