'He's slithering, oh my gosh': Woman spots snake on shelf at a Target

Now you'd expect to see snake jewelry, a target for a snakeskin bag or drain o snake plus to unclog your drains. But when Diane dupree first saw an actual snake at this apex, North Carolina target, I thought it was a child's twice. So I thought, oh my goodness, somebody's pranking me. Where's the camera? But she ended up whipping out her own camera. Finally realizing it was real, The tongue came out and that's how I knew Diane couldn't stop chuckling about her own reaction to the snake that targeted Target didn't even look at this. It's hurry telling the mountain to hurry. Okay, so it wasn't a venomous snake or a man swallowing python. It was a harmless rat snake that employees removed and released back to Nature. Target says it sanitized the area and brought in a pest control company to do a full evaluation of the store, according to an animal expert at north Carolina University. These snakes are out of hibernation. They're moving around there looking for food. They might be looking for mates. Well, don't look at diane snake. She already has a mate. A woman stumbled upon a snake while shopping at a Target store in Apex, North Carolina, on Monday, WRAL reports.A black rat snake made its way onto the shelves where Target keeps baked beans, which is what the woman was shopping for. It didn't go unnoticed. Experts told WRAL the snakes are harmless, but it's shocking regardless.A Target team member told the news outlet that the snake may have found its way inside on a cart or by some other mode of transportation."I thought it was a child's toy. So I thought, 'Oh my goodness someone is pranking me. Where's the camera? This is a joke,' because it was totally still," said Diane Dupre, who found the snake.Dupre grabbed some beans, convinced the snake was fake."As I zoomed in, I was going to take a photo, the tongue came out and that's how I knew it was a real snake," she said.She called for help."See, he's slithering, oh my gosh, I can't even look at this. I'm telling the men to hurry," Dupre recalls.Target team members were able to get the snake out safely and release it back into the wild.Experts say these snakes are out of hibernation, so they're moving around and looking for food or mates. It's possible the snake hibernated inside the store throughout the winter.A Target spokesperson told WRAL crews immediately disinfected the area where the snake was found. The store also plans to bring in a pest control company to do a thorough sweep of the store.

"As I zoomed in, I was going to take a photo, the tongue came out and that's how I knew it was a real snake," she said.

She called for help.

"See, he's slithering, oh my gosh, I can't even look at this. I'm telling the men to hurry," Dupre recalls.

Target team members were able to get the snake out safely and release it back into the wild.
