Here's when Disneyland will reopen to all guests
There’s big news coming out of the happiest place on earth today: Out-of-state guests can officially head back to Disneyland in just a few weeks.
“Today, we’re pleased to announce that beginning June 15, 2021, we will once again be able to welcome travelers from outside the state of California back to our theme parks!” Disneyland said in a statement released on the Disney Parks Blog. “Out-of-state visitors may now begin booking their return to the parks on Disneyland.com.”
Between now and then, park entry is still limited to California residents, and groups must comprise three households or fewer.
Since the state released new guidance designating Disneyland and other large theme parks as “mega events,” there have been questions about whether the company would require proof of vaccination for entry. Wednesday's statement made it clear that it will not require them.
“The State of California strongly recommends that all guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the theme parks,” the statement clarified. While proof of vaccination or of a recent negative COVID test are required at indoor mega-events (which the state defines as indoor gatherings of over 5,000 people), that documentation is recommended but not required at outdoor mega events, which are gatherings outdoors of over 10,000.
Masks will still be required throughout the parks, even though the state will be dropping its mask mandate as of June 15.
