American Airlines plane experiencing engine issue lands safely at San Jose Airport
An American Airline plan that experienced engine issues landed safely at the Mineta San Jose International Airport Monday morning, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. NBC Bay Area reported that American Airlines Flight 2049, an Airbus 320 heading for Phoenix, landed at 11:04 a.m. and taxied safely to its gate.Witnesses on the ground in San Jose described the incident to KSBW saying that they heard three-four large bangs before they looked up to see fire coming out from the engine.According to a passenger on the flight, every time the pilots tried to throttle up, there was some unusual rattling and shaking, NBC Bay Area reported. The FAA will conduct an investigation.
