A 9-year-old girl was honored Monday in Kansas for calling 911 when her neighbor needed help.On May 2, Bekkah Suraud saw her neighbor's dog was outside. When Bekkah returned the dog home, she found her neighbor was having a medical emergency.The neighbor's cellphone was locked, but Bekkah knew how to use its emergency call feature and dialed 911.Bekkah received a 911 hero award from the Mid-America Regional Council."If anyone is hurt or you think they're having a really big problem and something's wrong with them, then just call 911, find the closest phone," Bekkah said.Dispatcher Trey Glidewell took Bekkah's call that day and was also at the ceremony.

Bekkah received a 911 hero award from the Mid-America Regional Council.

"If anyone is hurt or you think they're having a really big problem and something's wrong with them, then just call 911, find the closest phone," Bekkah said.

Dispatcher Trey Glidewell took Bekkah's call that day and was also at the ceremony.
