Recent grads eligible for 500 rare book giveaway in Santa Cruz
A Central Coast book store is offering up a curated collection of over 500 rare books for its first-ever Noah Rhoads prize.
Bad Animal Books in downtown Santa Cruz has opened the contest up to any California high school student or recent graduate, as well as any UC Santa Cruz college undergraduate or recent graduate.
"All they have to do to win is write us an essay up to a thousand words, where they state why they want these books that's all,” explained Bad Animals Books co-owner, Jessica Loprete. They can send an e-mail to info@badanimalbooks.com with their entry.
The deadline to send in your 1,000-word essay is July 31.
The contest is dedicated to Noah Rhoads, who was a student of one of the bookshops' owners when he taught at UC Santa Cruz.
