A Florida Golden Retriever puppy has caught the attention of many for being born a shade of key lime green. The puppy, named Shamrock, quickly became the star of the litter for her unique coloring. Carole Debruler, owner of Golden Treasures Kennel, said that Shamrock was stained in the womb by a green bile pigment called biliverdin.While it is a rare case, it is not an unheard-of occurrence that can result in temporary coloring. The key lime green color does fade over time. Now, more than six weeks old, Shamrock has lost the viridescence but thankfully, not her vivaciousness.
