Happy Friday and welcome back to another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis!
This week, headlines are dominated by the Emmy nominations, for the ceremony on September 14th on NBC and Peacock, as well as speculation about Taylor Swift’s wedding which took place last weekend.
Bon Jovi also played his first show in 4 years at MSG this past Tuesday, which is the first of nine scheduled at the venue. And I was sad to hear this week that Bonnie Tyler passed away at age 75.
As for TV news this week, all eight episodes of the first season of the Little House on the Prairie series are on Netflix now! The show has already been renewed for season 2.
If you’re a reality tv fan, Big Brother started last night and the cast includes 2 former Survivor players, one of whom is Rick Devens, the other was not announced prior to the show’s premiere, and there is also a RuPaul’s Drag Race star amongst the cast as well.
For my collectors out there, the Prime sensation Off Campus has released a line of Funko Pop! figures, which you can preorder here.
In terms of movies this week, the new 13 Going on 30 requel has officially started filming. Emily Bader and Logan Lerman are set to star in the film.
A new live action An Extremely Goofy Movie has cast Nik Salah opposite Dylan O’Brien. I’m unsure of the production or release schedule for this project.
Love and Other Words, one my all time favorite books, is officially becoming a movie from Magic Hour Entertainment! Check out the book by Christina Lauren here.
Lastly, we got a surprise little teaser from the upcoming movie Sunrise on the Reaping last weekend, which heads to theaters this November. In anticipation of the new release, all five Hunger Games movies will be back in theaters this September, and there’s also a Hunger Games book club going on now that you can join.
