TV NEWS THIS WEEK
- The Prime series We Were Liars, created by Carina MacKenzie and Julie Plec, added some new faces to the cast for season 2! Check out this article to see who. Some highlights include Riley Voelkel, Callan Potter, and Shaun Sipos. Season 2 has already started filming in Nova Scotia, so fingers crossed we’ll see it on the streamer next summer!
- Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, stars of The Vampire Diaries, are reuniting on a Hulu series called You Deserve to Know. It’s based off of Aggie Blum Thompson’s novel of the same name. This is the first time we’ll see Nina and Paul back on screen together since the conclusion of The Vampire Diaries. This new series “follows three suburban couples — next door neighbors and best friends. When one of their husbands is murdered, a shocking trail of secrets is revealed, and their friendship cracks wide open”.
- There is an Aquamarine series in the works, based off of the 2006 movie. Emma Roberts is set to executive produce and guest star.
MOVIE NEWS THIS WEEK
- Shrek 5 is coming June 30, 2027 and the trailer is out now. Eddie Murphy, Mike Meyers, and Cameron Diaz continue to voice Donkey, Shrek, and Fiona. Zendaya and Marcello Hernandez join the cast as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter and sons respectively. Eddie Murphy also says that there’s a Donkey movie in the works as well.
- Supergirl is in theaters today!
BROADWAY
- Paddington The Musical is coming to Broadway in March 2027. Previews start 3/30, and the show will officially open on April 18th. The musical “follows a young, marmalade-loving bear who travels from Peru to London in search of a new home. Taken in by the fractured Brown family in Windsor Gardens, Paddington must evade an evil taxidermist who wants to stuff him for the Natural History Museum.”
- WARRIORS, a new musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis is coming to Broadway in March 2027. It’s adapted from the 1979 film and the 1965 book. Casting is still TBA, and tickets will be going on sale in October.
- Francois Arnaud and David Corenswet will be starring in a show together on Broadway starting in February 2027 called Three Days of Rain
