This truly is the year for Prime Video… First they stole the show with the release of Off Campus, which led into the release of Every Year After this past Wednesday, and we still have several exciting projects to look forward to including Elle on July 1st and The Love Hypothesis on September 23rd.
You can watch the first season of Every Year After in its entirety here. I’m going to be honest… It’s not my favorite adaptation out there. The series is based off of the novel Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, which is one of my all-time favorite novels. I really can’t recommend the book enough! My issue with the show is not the plot points they changed (though they did change things), but the way that they changed the tone of the story, making certain characters act very out of character and eliminating the beauty and nostalgia that was so imperative to the storyline. I thought the cast was amazing, but the vibe was different from the book which didn’t sit well with me. It’s worth a watch, especially if you haven’t read the book, but I’d be curious to hear what you all think if you do choose to watch!
As I said above, Elle, which is a prequel to Legally Blonde, is premiering on July 1st, and you can check out a promo here. If you love Legally Blonde, check out this fun event that’s taking place in New York City on June 20th!
Lastly for Prime, The Love Hypothesis, based on the incredible novel by romance powerhouse Ali Hazelwood, will drop on the streamer on September 23rd. We’ve been waiting for a release date for so long now, and the date is finally here, along with some promo shots from the film!
If you’re a Friday Night Lights fan, you know the 20th anniversary of the series is quickly approaching and in honor of the anniversary, the cast is reuniting for a little tour around the US! Some cast members will be hopping around to different Alamo Draft House locations around the nation and doing a screening of an episode of the series of their choosing, followed by a Q&A! As for movies, there is reportedly a 24 Jump Street in the works and if you want to see the new Michael Jackson biopic, it’s now available to buy or rent on digital!
