Happy Friday! We are one week closer to warmer weather and I couldn’t be happier! Thanks for checking out another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis.
In the months leading up to his death, Eric Dane had been working on a memoir. He announced the project back in December, saying that the book will touch upon his career – including his work on Euphoria and Grey’s Anatomy – in addition to his ALS diagnosis. He previously said, “I wake up every morning, and I’m immediately reminded that this is real — this illness, this challenge and that’s exactly why I’m writing this book. I want to capture the moments that shaped me — the beautiful days, the hard ones, the ones I never took for granted — so that if nothing else, people who read it will remember what it means to live with heart. If sharing this helps someone find meaning in their own days, then my story is worth telling.”
The book, titled My Book of Days A Memoir in Moments is scheduled for a November 3rd release.
I also said a couple of weeks ago, just after learning of his passing, that I wasn’t sure if Dane would appear in any future projects, but he will be in the upcoming season of Euphoria, which premieres on HBO Max on April 12th. I am not sure if there are any other projects he was working on.
It was announced this week that Kaley Cuoco is joining the cast of the upcoming HBO Max drama How to Survive Without Me. She joins Ray Romano and Joshua Jackson in the cast and the show will be helmed by Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran. Berlanti has previously worked with Cuoco on The Flight Attendant and he worked with Joshua Jackson early on in his career on Dawson’s Creek.
There is no release scheduled for this series yet – it’s still in very early production – but it will follow the De Angelis family in the aftermath of the family matriarch’s passing. Before she passed away, Beverley did her best to ensure that her family would continue to be there for each other and make time for one another. Cuoco will be playing the eldest daughter Kate, Jackson will be playing her brother Cooper, and Romano has been cast as the family patriarch.
Some other TV news – The Bear will be concluding with its upcoming season which is scheduled to debut later this year, the Netflix Little House on the Prairie reboot has been renewed for season two ahead of the season one premiere, there could be a Firefly reunion coming, and the trailer for the final season of The Boys has been released. The fifth and final season will premiere on April 8th on Prime with two episodes, followed by weekly releases until the series finale on May 20th.
As for movies, there is reportedly a large-scale Game of Thrones film in the works. Daisy Edgar Jones (Normal People, Where the Crawdads Sing, Twisters) has been cast in the adaptation of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. And Beach Read, an adaptation of Emily Henry’s novel, reportedly has its male lead. Rumor has it, Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon) will be playing Gus Everett alongside Phoebe Dynevor’s January Andrews!
Speaking of Emily Henry, fans are speculating that Hudson Williams, best known for his recent work on the hockey sensation Heated Rivalry, is going to be starring in an adaptation of Happy Place. Fans are leaning in this direction because JLo, who’s working on the project, and Emily Henry both have followed Hudson on Instagram, but there is no further evidence yet.
Personally, I am obsessed with Heated Rivalry – absolutely obsessed, I can’t go an hour without talking about it. Truly, it’s bad how obsessed with this show I am – and I adore Hudson Williams, but I don’t know if I can see him in this cast.
There’s really only two prominent male characters in this story, one who is the main character and one who is a side character. Hudson does not aesthetically fit for the male lead, who is blonde, and selfishly, if Hudson’s going to be in an Emily Henry adaption, I want him to be the main man!
As a fan, I’ll obviously be happy if he’s cast, but I just don’t see the vision yet.
If you’re a book fan, specifically a romantasy book fan, legendary author Sarah J Maas announced this week with Alex Cooper that there are TWO new novels coming in her popular series A Court of Thorns and Roses. One will be released in October, the next in January 2027.
Lastly, if you’re looking for new music, today! is! the! day!
Harry Styles released his new album today – Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. It’s his first album since the release of Harry’s House in 2022. If you like disco, surely you will find something you like on this album. I’ve listened to it all the way through a few times now, and while it differs from his previous sound, it’s masterful.
Katelyn Tarver also released an album today called Tell Me How You Really Feel. She’s known for her Indie Pop/Pop-Rock/Alternative sound. I’ve also listened to this album a few times since its release and wholeheartedly recommend it. She has such a way with words, making you feel as much a part of her songs as she is.
And, of course, I have to plug the new Ryan and Rory single Wasn’t Thinkin’! I’ve been a fan of Ryan’s for so many years now – 15+ years!!! – and I’m so thrilled for this new endeavor that he’s on. You may know Ryan from his band Hot Chelle Rae – known best for their song Tonight Tonight – and he is now part of a country duo called Ryan and Rory. These two are about to take the country music world by storm, I can feel it!
Thanks for checkin’ out The Buzz today, see you back here next week!
