Happy Friday! Welcome back to another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis, Martinis in a Can!
Hollywood tends to slow down around the holidays, so I don’t have that much for you this week, but I do have a holiday gift idea for you, some book news, and some things for you to look forward to!
If you’re shopping for any Star Trek fans this holiday season, LEGO released their first ever Star Trek set last Friday! The set is a massive recreation of the Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. You can see more info here. I imagine it will sell out quickly, so jump on that order early if you want to get it!
For my readers out there – the results of the Goodreads Awards in in! You can see the full list of winners here, but some highlights include titles by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Rebecca Yarros, and Suzanne Collins!
If you’re a movie and/or musical fan, the Broadway show Merrily We Roll Along starring Johnathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe, and Lindsay Mendez is in theaters starting today! It is a proshot, meaning that the film that’s shown in theaters is a filmed version of the stage production. It’s only expected to be in theaters for about 2 weeks, so if you’re a fan, maybe add a trip to the movies to your agenda on this cold weekend!
Lastly, some things for you to look forward to:
- The new season of Emily in Paris is coming to Netflix on December 18th. All 10 episodes will be dropping that day and you can watch the trailer for the new season here
- Tell Me Lies season 3 is premiering on January 13th
- Nick Jonas is releasing an album called Sunday Best on February 6th
- Euphoria season 3 is (finally!) premiering in April
- Chad Powers was renewed for season 2 at Hulu
- Vin Diesel is going to star, executive produce, and write the new Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots film, based off of the plastic toy robots that fight each other in a boxing ring. The toys first hit shelves in 1964, but have never received dedicated screen treatment. The film is going to be a story about the “role of competition in a world often measured by strength and dominance that dares to reveal the power of compassion at its core”
