Welcome back to another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis! We weren’t live on air this week, but I’m still here to give you an update and you can click here to listen to the extended podcast as wel.
I knew being a Dawson’s Creek fan would pay off at some point and that point is HERE! They announced this week that the entire Dawson’s Creek cast is going to be reuniting for one night only in New York City on September 22nd for a charity event. This will be first time the entire cast is together since the show wrapped and they’re going to be doing a full read through of the script of the pilot episode of Dawson’s Creek, all in support of F Cancer, cancer research, and James Van Der Beek, who was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
You can look forward to seeing James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe and Busy Philipps. Although Kerr, Meredith, and Busy were not in the pilot episode, they will be reading various roles from the episode. Even Greg Berlanti and creator Kevin Williamson are set to be in attendance.
Tickets for the Dawson’s Creek Class Reunion are on sale today through Broadway Direct!
Speaking of Kevin Williamson, if you are a fan of Scream, check out the new book Your Favorite Scary Movie by journalist Ashley Cullins, which explores the Scream films, including behind the scenes looks. It hit shelves three days ago on August 19th!
If you’re looking for something else to stir up the nostalgia this weekend, check out We Were Liars on Prime Video (yes, I’m still plugging We Were Liars!). It was released two months ago on the streamer and still sits at #5 on the charts and it evokes the same kind of nostalgia Dawson’s Creek does with a little added mystery. The Summer I Turned Pretty, also on Prime Video, does the same and if you’re not caught up on the series, you’re definitely going to want to catch up after this week’s episode!
Something else that will get you feeling nostalgic is Entertainment weekly’s 90s Issue, which you can find here.
Not looking for nostalgia but still want something to watch? Check out the new film The Map That Leads to You on Prime Video, starring KJ Apa and Madelyn Cline – or – check out the final four episode of the series Upload on Prime Video that dropped today!
See you back here next week for another episode of The Buzz!
