Happy Friday! I hope you’re all doing well after the blizzard! I’m excited to be back in studio and here to update you on the latest Hollywood buzz! As always, The Buzz is brought to you by Dini’s tinis.
After almost a decade, Lily Collins officially announced this week that she will be playing Audrey Hepburn in a new film about the screen icon. The film will center on the making of the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It’s based off of the book Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson, which is the first ever complete account of the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
I’m not sure about the release date on this project, but there’s tons to hold you over this weekend. The entirety of the fourth season of Bridgerton is now streaming on Netflix! The series has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6 as well. You can also stream Paul McCartney: Man on the Run on Prime, which takes a look at Paul McCartney following the Beatles’ break up.
If you’re looking to get out of the house this weekend, Scream 7 is now in theaters! Not only did this film mark creator Kevin Williamson’s return to the franchise, it also features many familiar faces from the franchise including Neve Campbell. Another film you may want to check out in theaters is EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, which showcases never-before-seen footage of Elvis’ time during his Las Vegas residency later in his career.
If you’re looking for music, Bruno Mars’ new album The Romantic is finally here! He also released a music video for the song Risk It All which you can check out below.
Something that’s been on my mind a lot this winter with the winter Olympics is gymnastics. Suni Lee, Simone Biles, and Jade Carey all spoke this week on the likelihood of us seeing them back for the summer games in 2028. None of them gave a solid answer, but they didn’t rule out the possibility either. If they do choose to participate and if they make the team, this will be the third consecutive Olympic games Suni and Jade have competed in. For Simone, it will be the fourth.
It also seems it was confirmed this week that Millie Bobby Brown will be playing Olympian Kerri Strug in an upcoming biopic. The film is set to start filming on April 1st in Atlanta and will centralize around the 1996 Olympics when an injured Strug competed her vault and helped the team win gold.
If you’re a Heated Rivalry fan like myself, this has been a VERY exciting week!
The show’s creator Jacob Tierney spoke on the show’s future and confirmed that the show is expected to start filming in August with a potential release date in the spring of 2027! The season looks like it’s going to be adapting the series’ sixth novel The Long Game, taking place about three years after the finale of season one.
The book series, right now, is comprised of six novels, each one following a different couple with storylines overlapping between the books. Shane and Ilya, the main characters of the television series, are the only couple who have two books right now, with a third book called Unrivaled expected in June of 2027. So far, it seems that only Troy and Harris, who book five centers around, will be the only new couple added to the television series, though things could definitely change.
Connor Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov, will be hosting SNL tomorrow night, which will air on NBC at 11:30pm and stream on Peacock.
Lastly for Heated Rivalry news, if you love the show, I’m sure you’ve dreamed of going to The Cottage and it’s looking like your dreams could come true! The Cottage is listed on Airbnb and will open up for reservations beginning on March 3rd at 12pm! The property is located in Torrance, Ontario on Walkers Point on the west shore of Lake Muskoka. It will be $248.10 CAD/night, as a nod to Shane and Ilya’s numbers on their respective hockey teams.
And finally, B.K. Borrison, known best for her novel First Time Caller, released a sequel to First Time Caller this week called And Now, Back to You. It was announced on the day of the sequel’s release that First Time Caller is being made into a movie! The book is about a hopeless romantic who meets a radio host in a “Sleepless in Seattle”-inspired story, so for you radio fans out there, you may just want to pick up this book! It was a five star read for me when I picked it up back in the fall!
See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz!
