Happy New Year, listeners and welcome back to The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis!
We’re hitting the ground running already this year with entertainment news.
Arguably the biggest thing that’s taking over pop culture right now is the series Heated Rivalry on HBO Max. It stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams. Although the show aired late in 2025, it’s taken the world by storm and continues to this January and it’s one of the only things the internet is talking about right now. (It’s also one of the only things I can talk about right now)
The show is based off of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series. If you have about six hours this weekend you’re looking to fill and want to catch yourself up on the hot new show that the internet’s buzzing about, check it out here.
Connor and Hudson will be presenting a Golden Globe Award this weekend, which airs on CBS on Sunday at 8pm. Nikki Glaser is hosting the show and some other familiar faces you’ll see are Miley Cyrus, Joe Keery of Stranger Things, Judd Apatow, Amanda Seyfried, and more. The ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
Tons of shows had their winter premiere this week including High Potential and The Rookie (Chenford fans, you don’t want to miss this episode!). There’s also tons coming back to television next week, including Tell Me Lies on Hulu. There’s also a new Tell Me Lies podcast streaming on Hulu as well.
If you’re looking for a movie this weekend and you’re in the mood for romance, check out the new film People We Meet on Vacation which dropped on Netflix today! The film is based off of Emily Henry’s novel and stars Emily Bader and Tom Blyth. I’ll link the trailer below.
Emily’s written six romance novels, five of which are already set to get TV/Movie adaptations! My favorite of her novels is Happy Place, which is getting a film adaptation on Netflix.
If you’re looking for music, BRUNO MARS IS BACK!
He released a song today called I Just Might – to my knowledge, it’s the first song he’s put out in awhile and it. is. FUN! The song holds the same Bruno sound we know and love and it just makes you want to dance! Check out the music video below.
He also announced this week that he’s going on tour and will be stopping in Foxboro on Saturday, September 5th. Tickets go on sale next week, with presale starting on the 14th. You can sign up for the presale here. Sign ups will be open until 1pm on 1/12.
Bruno also has an album coming out on February 27th called The Romantic.
See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz! But if you want something to hold you over until then, check out the extended podcast here!
