Happy Friday! This was a big week for media – there’s tons coming to streaming, a long awaited blockbuster finally in theaters, and a teaser for a mega-movie coming next fall is finally here.
It’s official – the epic conclusion to Wicked is in theaters TODAY! If you haven’t seen the first movie yet, do yourself a favor and give it a watch (it is streaming Amazon Prime!). Once you do, take a trip to the movies to see how this Wonderful story concludes (and bring your tissues, trust me!). Check out the trailer for Wicked: For Good below if you haven’t seen it yet.
I’ve already seen the movie twice – and yes, I know, this is crazy behavior, but this is a show that I’ve loved since I was 11 years old, and I can promise you, they did this story and its characters justice!
Two things coming to streaming this upcoming week just ahead of Thanksgiving are The Beatles Anthology Series and Volume I of the final season of Stranger Things.
The Beatles Anthology series is making its streaming debut on November 26th. You can watch the first three episodes on Disney Plus on the 26th, then the fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes will drop on the 27th, and the final three episodes will hit the platform on November 28th.
This series was originally broadcast in the US in 1995, but it has been restored and expanded from eight episodes to nine that will all be streaming on Disney Plus. The ninth episode will feature unreleased footage of Paul, George, and Ringo. Check out the trailer below!
If you’re a Stranger Things fan, you can FINALLY stream the first four episodes of the final season of the series starting on Wednesday, November 26th at 8pm on Netflix. This is only Volume I of the final season – Volume II drops on Christmas, followed by the long-awaited series finale on New Year’s Eve!
If you are a Hunger Games fan, the first teaser for the new film Sunrise on the Reaping has been released and I’ve linked it below. This film will be in theaters next November.
Sunrise on the Reaping follows Haymith Abernathy in the 50th Hunger Games. We met Haymitch in the original trilogy and he was played by Woody Harrelson, and in this film, which takes place 25 years before the original series, Haymitch will be played by the wonderfully talented Joseph Zada.
Zada recently starred in the Prime series We Were Liars and he completely stole the show, becoming a very obvious fan favorite. I imagine he will steal hearts in this movie as well.
If you haven’t read the novel yet, it was released earlier this year and was an absolutely fantastic read. You can grab a copy of the book here – and again, have some tissues with you! Also, check out this article to see more on casting for the film.
Friends fans – I’m sure you remember that after the series wrapped Joey got his own spin off series that lasted just two seasons, but there were episodes filmed that never made it to television. For the first time in the US, you can now stream those episodes! You can get more info here.
Lastly, if you’re a fan of the Grinch, McDonald’s is offering a Grinch meal for the first time in the US! With your meal, you have the choice of chicken nuggets or a Big Mac, Grinch Fries, a drink, and you will also get a pair of Grinch socks in lieu of a Happy Meal Toy. Check out this article for more.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving and thanks for checking out The Buzz this week, brought to you by Dini’s tinis Martinis in a Can!
