We’re closing out the week with another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis!
This week, an announcement was made that there is a permanent, brick and mortar Central Perk Coffeehouse headed to New York City!
This project is viewed as kind of like a “homecoming” because Friends, of course, took place in New York City and brought the iconic Central Perk into the public eye. At the Times Square coffeehouse, you’ll be able to sit on the beloved orange couch from the series and take home Central Perk memorabilia.
The shop is set to open this Fall, but if you’re feeling impatient or simply don’t want to travel, you can head to the Central Perk location in Boston on Newbury Street now.
If you’re looking for new music this weekend, Miley Cyrus, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood teamed up on a new single called Secrets, which is out now! You can listen to it here.
Aerosmith is also teaming up with the artist Yungblud for a five-track collaborative EP called One More Time. The EP is set for a November 21st release, but you can hear the first single My Only Angel now!
As for TV and movie news, the show We Were Liars, which I talked a looooot about back in the spring, has officially been renewed for season two at Prime Video! For now, you can stream the first season here.
Julie Plec, who co-created the series with Carina MacKenzie, also has a new series in the works called Rally with Andre Agassi. You can read more about that in this article.
Another Prime series that’s maintaining its spot in the Top 10 is The Summer I Turned Pretty.
TSITP aired its series finale this past Wednesday – if you haven’t seen it, you can catch that episode here. This series was popular during its first two seasons, but this final season really took the globe by storm, so if you’re looking for a nostalgic, romantic fix, this is the show for you.
They also announced the day that the finale aired that there is one more installment in the works: a movie. It seems like Jenny Han, the author of the books that the show is based off of and the co-showrunner of the series, has a plan to wrap up her characters’ stories once and for all. There is no release date for the film yet, but it seems like it will be scheduled for a 2027 release.
See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz!
