Welcome back to another edition of The Buzz, brought to you by Dini’s tinis – martinis in a can!
When I read this upcoming story, sitting on an airplane, I just about lost my mind. The Dawson’s Creek reunion we have been waiting for is HERE.
Well, kind of. While we’re not getting a Dawson’s Creek show or film, we’re getting something better: Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson back on screen together!
In the wake of the Dr. Odyssey cancellation announcement, reports of the new film trilogy Happy Hours started rolling in. Happy Hours is written and directed by Katie Holmes and stars she and Joshua Jackson in the leading roles. The films will also feature Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin.
The film is a dramedy that will examine young loves who reconnect as adults (soooouuund familiar? *wink wink*) and the story is described as being about two adults who are trying to navigate their relationship alongside careers and family responsibilities.
Filming has already started – check out some photos below!! – and the second and third installments are projected to start filming shortly after this first film in New York City.
Other film news to look forward to: The Devil Wears Prada sequel is currently filming in NYC as well. Plot details have not been released yet, but Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt are all set to return and the movie is projected to be released in the spring. And, if you’re a Hunger Games fan, the new film that is slated for a November 2026 release is rumored to also feature OG Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson, though this is not yet confirmed.
I know I just gave you some teasers, so if you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, you can check out Happy Gilmore 2 and My Oxford Year now on Netflix.
Lastly, if you’re an entertainment enthusiast like myself, a big transition is coming in Hollywood with the end of E! News as we know it. After 34 years, the E! News television series is coming to an end, but the platform will continue digitally. The last broadcast will air on September 25th.
See you back here for another edition of The Buzz!
