Welcome back to another edition of The Buzz!
This was an extremely quiet week in Hollywood and I imagine heading into the 4th of July holiday, it will only get quieter!
The biggest things going on right now are all of the television releases this month! There have been tons of releases, but four really stick out.
#1 – We Were Liars. I’ve talked extensively about WWL these last few months as I counted down to the release of Carina MacKenzie and Julie Plec’s new show, and boy did it impress! It was so much better than I thought it would even be. As of this morning, the show is still #1 worldwide on Prime Video. You can check out the show here.
#2 – The Waterfront. Kevin Williamson (creator of Scream, Dawson’s Creek, and more) dropped his new series on Netflix last week and it’s a HIT! Currently, it is #1 worldwide on Netflix. You can watch The Waterfront here. I haven’t seen it yet, but it was filmed in Wilmington, NC (where Dawson’s Creek was filmed) so I imagine there might be a bit of nostalgia there.
#3 – Countdown premiered on Prime two days ago and is currently #2 worldwide on Prime Video. The show stars Jensen Ackels, Jessica Camacho, and Eric Dane. So far, three episodes are available on the streamer and there will be a new episode each Wednesday through September 3rd. Click here to watch.
#4 – The highly anticipated new season of The Bear dropped on Hulu on Wednesday and it is currently #1 worldwide on Hulu. I don’t know much about this show at all, but it’s receiving rave reviews. Check it out for yourself now!
If movies are your thing, the new Jurassic Park film starring Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson will be in theaters on Wednesday, July 2nd, just in time for the holiday weekend! If you’re a Johnathan Bailey fan, check out this article and the embedded video of his appearance on Jimmy Fallon.
Channing Tatum is also going to be in a new film called Roofman that’s coming out on October 10th. You can read more about it here.
Comedy fans – Adam Sandler announced that he’s going on a North American comedy tour and he’ll be stopping in Boston on Tuesday, September 30th. Tickets for that show go on sale today at noon and you can find them here. He will also be at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on September 26th.
Lastly, three of the Beatles’ sons are coming together for a new song called Rip Off. I don’t know when it’s going to be released, but I do know Sean Ono Lennon, James McCartney, and Zak Starkey are working on it together. I’ll keep you posted when the song actually does get a release date!
Thanks for checking out the Buzz this week, brought to you of course by Boston’s own Dini’s Tinis Martinis in a Can! We will be back in two weeks, but for now, enjoy your weekend and the holiday next week!
