Jordyn’s Buzz – October 21st, 2022

It’s a bit of a light week in Hollywood, but we do have two exciting memoirs coming to us.

Ralph Macchio released a memoir called Waxing On this past Tuesday. It’s a piece that reflects on the legacy of the Karate Kid. He focuses on the impact that the films had in his life, in film, and in pop culture.

He strives to reflect on how the film shaped who he is as an individual and also shaped the world after the release of the film. He will give you an insider look at the film and a behind the scenes view of how some of the iconic moments from the film actually came to be.

Matthew Perry has also created his own memoir which will be released on November 1st.

It’s called Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. The piece looks at Matthew Perry’s life, from things like his childhood to landing the iconic role of Chandler Bing on Friends, to then ultimately examining his battle with addiction and sobriety. The book jacket describes the book as ‘vividly depict(ing) his lifelong battle with addiction and what fueled it despite seemingly having it all’.

And lastly, it’s a Big Movie Day today!

There are four new movies hitting the big screen today – Black Adam, the long anticipated DC Comics release, Ticket to Paradise starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, The Banshees of Inesherin, and, my personal favorite, My Policeman starring Harry Styles.

See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz!
