Jordyn’s Buzz – September 9th, 2022

Welcome back to another edition of The Buzz!

At age 96, after 70 years on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday. She was the longest reigning monarch in modern history and was somebody who served the British people with her whole heart and she became an icon across the globe.

Her son, Charles III, has now assumed the throne, moving William up to next in line for the British throne.

Another British icon is dominating headlines this week: Harry Styles.

Harry has been active in the music community having recently released a new album called Harry’s House and he is currently playing a set of fifteen shows at Madison Square Garden in New York before moving on to play shows in Los Angeles, Austin, and Chicago.

He is also in the headlines right now because of the two upcoming films that he’s starring in.

In just two weeks, Olivia Wilde’s film Don’t Worry Darling hits theaters. It stars Styles along with Chris Pine, Florence Pugh, Oliva Wilde, Gemma Chan, Kiki Layne, and Nick Kroll. It is a psychological thriller, which excites Styles because it ‘feels like a real movie’.

He’s also going to be in the new feature My Policeman, which is premiering in October of this year and will be on Prime in November.

Although we don’t have any new news on the Barbie movie with Margot Robbie, we recently got word that Robbie will be starring in a new film called Babylon with Brad Pitt. The film will be released on Christmas and takes place in the Jazz Age of the 1920s while Hollywood was transitioning from silent films to “talkies”.

Phoebe Tonkin, Tobey Maguire, Meryl Streep, Olivia Wilde, Emma Stone, and many more recognizable faces are also set to star.

It was also confirmed this week, just before the season five premiere, that the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a sixth and final season.

The fifth season will premiere on Hulu in just five days, on September 14th, and then viewers can look forward to one final season.

See you back here next week for another edition of The Buzz!
