18 years ago, I lost my title of “youngest of the family.” Now, my nephew, Alex, wears that badge.
Having no kids of my own, I love him as if he were my own.
I remember getting the call in the middle of the night: my sister had just given birth to her first child, a healthy baby boy. I cried tears of joy; loved him so much already and couldn’t wait to meet him.
18 years of memories: holidays and birthdays…. stuffed animals, bikes, the NFL Football University invitation and JROTC, are in the history books now and they are memories I will always cherish.
In June, Alex will graduate from high school and will soon join the Coast Guard. Yes, I AM a proud aunt and I’m soooo gonna cry at his graduation. Do you have a loved one graduating this year? I share in your joy. Congrats to the class of 2018!- Audrey Constant
